Death from Prescription Drug Overdose in Wyoming

A major concern surrounding prescription drug abuse is overdose. Below are facts and statistics surrounding prescription drug overdose in Wyoming as reported to the Wyoming Department of Health.

1. Several counties did not have a single death over the 10 years related solely to illicit drug use.  These counties include: Big Horn, Converse, Crook, Hot Springs, Teton, Washakie, and Weston.

2. Several counties did not have a single death related to both prescription and illicit drug use.  These counties include: Big Horn, Crook, Goshen, Hot Springs, Johnson, Niobrara, Platte, Sublette, Teton, Washakie, and Weston.

CDC Drug Overdose Deaths by State

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) analyzed recent multiple cause-of-death mortality data from the National Vital Statistics System to track current trends and shifting characteristics of drug overdose deaths.
